DIY Laundry Soap

I have been doing laundry all weekend with the wonderful new DIY laundry soap I found on Pinterest.  I am loving the results so much I wanted to share my new recipe!

My clothes smell fresh and I spent around $40 and it should last about six months to a year, but I have a small family.

I am also anxious to see if it will be easier on my washer than the liquid detergent I had been using.  My front-loading washer sometimes had a rancid smell, even after draining the water from the reservoir drain on my washer.

1 box of Borax
1 box of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
3 bars of Fels Naptha (grated finely)
1 tub of OxyClean
2 cups of Baking Soda

I made a mistake and poured everything in layers.  It was very hard to mix up.  I suggest pouring a little of each item and mix and then pour a little more and mix and so on.

You will only need to use about a tablespoon of powder per load.

The plus about this recipe is that my laundry room always has a fresh smell!
